That is a genuinely unusual level of competition for a teenager, and it says as much about Diomande’s ceiling as it does about how well Leipzig have managed this situation so far.
For Liverpool, patience looks like the only sensible approach here. There is clear interest, background work is clearly happening, and everyone involved knows the player currently leans toward Paris. What keeps this alive from Liverpool’s side is that PSG and Leipzig have not reached a breakthrough either, which leaves a door open, however narrow, for anyone willing to wait it out.

It is worth remembering Diomande is not the only name on this list either, with Bradley Barcola also reportedly under consideration, a sign Liverpool are not staking everything on one outcome. That flexibility should reassure supporters more than any single update about Diomande himself.
There is nothing wrong with Liverpool continuing to do the groundwork on a player this talented, recruitment departments are supposed to track situations exactly like this one. The risk is investing too much attention in a race that may already be trending toward Paris. Given the unresolved nature of PSG’s own Leipzig talks though, Liverpool are right to stay ready. If the landscape shifts even slightly, being positioned to move quickly matters more than being loudest about interest now. For the moment, this reads like a market still finding its shape rather than a deal edging toward completion at Anfield.
